흔히 간병인 서비스라고 하는 In Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Program
어떤서비스를 받을수 있나요?
- Domestic services, such as sweeping, vacuuming, taking out the garbage, wheelchair cleaning and battery recharging, and changing bed linens -빗자루로 쓸고, 청소기를 밀고, 쓰레기 버려주고, 윌체어 닦아주고, 전동윌체어 베터리 재충전, 침대보 갈아주기
- Related services, such as meal preparation and cleanup, laundry, and shopping -식사준비, 식사후 설겆이와 청소, 세탁, 마켓 장보기
- Personal care services, such as feeding, bathing, grooming, dressing, bowel and bladder care, and help with medications -밥먹여주기, 목욕시켜주기, 머리 단정히 해주기, 손발톱 깎아주기, 기저귀 갈아주기, 약 먹는것 도와주기
- Transportation to medical appointments or alternative sources of services like day programs -병원, 클리닉 가는것 예약, 모시고 가기
- Removal and cleanup of yard hazards 위험한것 치우거나 청소하기
- Heavy cleaning 대청소
위의 서비스들을 간병인에게 도움 받으실수 있습니다. 이 외에 특별히 의료, 치료와 관계된 서비스가 필요하시면 간병인 서비스 시간에 Paramedical services 를 신청하실수 있습니다.
파라메디컬 서비스는 예를 들면, 인슐린 이나 호르몬 요법 같은 주사를 맞아야 하는 경우, range of motion exercises (간단한 물리치료의 종류) 같은게 필요할때, 소변호수 삽입 (urinary catheterization), 상처 부위의 드레싱 체인지, 처방받은 안약이나 귀 점이제 투여 등등 이 있습니다. 파라메디컬 서비스로 인하여 간병인 시간이 더 필요한경우 담당 소셜워커에게 양식을 달라고 해서 주치의에게 써달라고 하면 됩니다.

한집에 사는 가족을 돌보는경우 MAXIMUM 360 HOURS A MONTH
일반적인 경우 66 HOURS PER WEEK
Beginning February 1, 2016, state law (Welfare and Institutions Code section 12300.4) limits the maximum weekly
number of hours an IHSS/Waiver Personal Care Services (WPCS) provider can work in a workweek. A provider in
the IHSS/WPCS program will be paid overtime if they work more than 40 hours a week, but providers shall not work
more than 66 hours a week for IHSS and WPCS recipients combined.
The IHSS program has created a family-member exemption to the workweek maximum of 66 hours for IHSS providers
to allow them to work up to a maximum of 90 hours per workweek and up to a maximum of 360 hours a month.
In
order to be eligible for this exemption, you must meet the three (3) following conditions on or before January 31, 2016:
• You must provide IHSS services to two or more IHSS recipients.
• You must currently live in the same home as the IHSS recipients that you provide services to.
• You must be related to the IHSS recipients to whom you provide services as his/her parent, stepparent, adoptive
parent or grandparent or be his/her legal guardian.
With this exemption, you cannot work more than 90 hours per workweek or more than 360 hours per month.
If you
work up to these maximum hours for your recipients and your IHSS recipients still have IHSS hours left, then your
IHSS recipients will have to hire another IHSS provider to work the rest of their IHSS hours.
