hello, this is _(º»ÀÎ)_ from unit __(È£)__. the first electric bill i received after moving in was unusually high ($200). when i called the electric company, they told me that they would schedule someone to come out for some testing, but perhaps because of the covid situation, i didn't hear back from them, and a month went by. the bill i received after that was even higher ($350), so once again, i called the electric company. i asked for someone to be sent out, and i questioned about the possibility of the meter being installed at another address, to which they answered, after checking, that there was nothing wrong with the meter and there were no issues on their end. following this conversation, i called the office and explained that there was no reason for my electric bill to be so high (on jan 2). they said they would send a maintenance person, but no one came. i was busy and let days go by, until another month went by, and i received another bill, this time for $460. last saturday, i found the water heater making noise that sounded like gas leakage. i did some internet searching, and i believe that this might be the culprit. i contacted the office with an emergency call, but since there was no water or gas leaking, they said that someone would come by on monday. when they discover the issue on monday, they will probably make repairs or replacements, but,... the reason i'm writing this email is that when you look at the amount of electric usage on my part, it shouldn't have been over $30, and that was why i was puzzled and called the electric company several times. they said that there were no issues on their end, so i called the office afterwards on jan 2, informing them of the situation, but they took no action. i've been paying over $10 a day for my electrical use. the staff at the apt office says that i am 100& responsible for the charge since it's what i have used, but it was due to issues with the water heater, and if it had been looked at and repaired on jan 2 when i informed them, then i wouldn't be stuck with this $460 bill (dec 16 to jan 14). also, i'm anticipating for the next bill to be high as well, since the bill would also cover some time prior to repairs. i hope that the water heater could be replaced/repaired as soon as possible, and i am requesting for some action regarding the charges for something i haven't used. i've attached a graph showing the charges for usage, starting from march of 2020. from what the office staff member has told me, the apartment has been empty since the spring. Please take note that there is usage from the vacant apartment, without tenants. |
