At yesterday’s SU7 launch event, Xiaomi ceo Le Jun said Tesla’s top-notch FSD is the benchmark in the autonomous driving field worldwide and the hardware computing power inside new Model 3 exceeds 700 TOPs. He admitted Xiaomi EV SU7 was benchmarked against Model 3 during its development in two key areas: industry-leading battery consumption and autonomous driving and it may take Xiaomi 3-5 years to catch up in powertrain efficiency. On the other hand, he said SU7 is better than Model 3 in every other category.

Xiaomi CEO also said “if we make SU7 the same price as $tsla new Model3, I bet many people will choose our SU7. So here it is, we are making it 30k yuan cheaper than M3. We lose money even at M3 price level, but we want to thank our MiFans for the support.”
