as of, as of yet

예를 들어, as of today:

The ordinance is in effect as of today.

법령은 오늘부로 유효하다.

as of today라고 하면 오늘부터, 그러니까 한 시점부터 시작한다는 뜻입니다. 

‘그 시점에’가 아니라, 그 시점부터. 

영어로 하면 ‘on’이 아니라 ‘on and after’.

I had the money transferred as of Monday.

돈을 월요일부터 transfer 해 두었다.

이런 경우에는 월요일부터 돈을 transfer 한 상태가 유지되기 때문에 as of를 사용합니다.

그리고, 상태가 유지됨을 말하기 때문에,

I transferred the money as of Monday 보다는, The money has been transferred as of Monday, I had the money transferred as of Monday  >> 이런 식이 더 자연스럽겠죠...?

I transferred the money as of Monday 보다는 I transferred the money on Monday 가 더 자연스럽고요...
